Alone, Surounded and running low on ammo. Looking for others to put up a final fight.

Two days and counting.

Two days no more, that’s what it’s going to take for press to jump on the gun-control bandwagon after the most recent event Colorado shooting. I pray for peace of those who were killed and quick recovery to the injured. I don’t know what set this person off and I don’t care. I hope that justice is swift and final.

I blame the person not the weapon. Unfortunately from what I hear, the rifle of choice was my beloved AR-15 or variant. I hope this doesn’t trigger copy cats, but I fear it will.

Sit back and watch the talking head puppet show. The vultures of gun control will soon be picking at the corpses.

Range Time with new toy.

I think I may have found the replacement for my Glock 17. Don’t get me wrong I would trust my life to the Tupperware Avenger. I have put more rounds through it than I can count and it has never failed to go bang. But damn Sig Sauer makes a fine weapon. P226r with night sights and E2 grip to be exact. I also have the 22lr kit. The balance is much better than the Glock which is a little top heavy, and the recoil was a little flippy. The Sig is very smooth and the recoil is easier to control and get back on target for follow up shots.

I was also impressed with the accuracy. I’m not going to say it is more accurate than the Glock, but I was shooting better with it. Today’s modern semi-autos are really wonders of engineering. There are so many quality firearms to choose from. Pick what you you can afford but quality is value. I really feel that the sig will out live my usefulness on the planet and be shooting well into life of those who will have it after me.

A permit for an illegal act?

For clarification I live in a nanny state socialist hellhole. And one of the many things we can’t do here is enjoy personal fireworks. Luckily for me I do live near the border of a more open-minded state. So like many of my other citizens, this time of year I made a border run in order to obtain some locally prohibited fireworks.

In a cliché dance of civil disobedience, I braved hundred degree heat in a crowded parking lot and entered a fireworks establishment. All I wanted to obtain was some firecrackers and bottle rockets for my nieces and nephews. Upon entering the air-conditioned oasis I was ushered into the line for a permit. A permit I thought to myself, what I’m doing is illegal. How can I get a permit for something that’s illegal? What I discovered is a local city ordinance to issue a permit in order to fleece the many out of state purchasers.

It was my intention to join the ranks of bootleggers, moonshiners and gunrunners and sneak my illegally obtain goods across the border. Hide in plain sight as it were. But I instead I found a layer of government profiting on the absurdity of another governments rules. God bless them. With a smile I handed over my identification, bought my permit and made my purchase.

I was only slightly upset that they had destroyed my vicarious thrill of sticking it to “the man” by paying the bribe to the local town. So with tears of laughter I wish you all a happy Fourth of July.

Eric Holder Must Go!

Eric Holder is an incompetent lackey for the Obama administration. This tool makes me long for the days of, Janet “Burn down the Compound” Reno. For 18 months, Holder has been in negations with congress over the Fast and Furious gun scandal. Yes people it is a scandal. After waiting all this time now the administration claims executive privilege. Does this man have photos of the president in some compromising situation with a goat and peanut butter? I don’t see any possible explanation on why he has not been asked to seek employment elsewhere. First he lies on what he new and when he knew it. He is then called to task for his misleading statement. He is allowed to retract his statement to avoid purgery and turns over thousands of redacted files ,all the while claiming he has been complying completely. This is a joke and I’m not laughing. This administration has had gun rights in its sight since they have taken power. They knew that times have changed and they are on the wrong side of the number. They chose to change the narrative by appealing to our better sides and guilt us into giving up our rights. The tactic was to blame Mexican Cartel guns and violence on straw purchases in Texas and Arizona. They were going to track the guns to Mexican crime and criminals and demand we tighten up our rules and laws. Create a crisis and enact a solution. Never mind that the solution was the goal. The law should be neutral and applied equally, or it lacks the force law. He must go!

Ruger SR 22 review

All gunowners always get a warm excited feeling when they purchase a new firearm. At least I know I do. You’re always wondering if you got a good deal, picking up somebody else’s problem, or just made a bad decision. Given the rising cost of firearms today this decision is often amplified.

After careful evaluation I determined I needed a new 22 pistol for practice. Putting it honestly my pistol skills had fallen off. I know in the ego driven world of the gun culture admitting that you are not the master sniper and door kicking CQC Rambo that may open me to ridicule goodnatured or otherwise. Like many though I take my skills seriously, hence my new purchase.

I was looking for a 22 semi automatic pistol with a look and feel of a modern tactical pistol. I looked at and considered the Sig Mosquito, the Walter P 22 and the Ruger SR 22. I chose the Ruger, and am very please with the purchase.

Here are a few quick reasons why. Ergonomics – the Ruger fit exceptionally well my hand was, light well-balanced and had a good texture on the grip. Value – The Ruger came in slightly less MSRP to the other two and I was able to find one on Gunbroker for approximately $265 before shipping and transfer. My local gun shop recently put one out for retail sale at $375. They are a little hard to come by in my area. Fit & Finish – In my opinion was a wash with the other two, all are quality manufactured firearms. Some people have noted some minor feed problems with Sig. So I went with made in America. And it was also very tacticool.

Somebody at Ruger should be getting a freaking raise, they definitely did their homework on this pistol. And in my opinion I believe the price will be going up on these pistols in the future, as the demand increases.

Range Report: I ran approximately 500 rounds of mixed ammo from Winchester, CCI, Federal and Centurion through pistol in under two hours. I had no FTF or extraction failures at all. The double action trigger while long and a little stiff was easy to get used to, the single action trigger was very nice. The pistol was fairly accurate for a short barrel and had an awesome flash if you’re into that. This pistol could be even cooler if it had a threaded barrel for a silencer or a compensator. But given that this pistol is new for 2012 I’m sure there will be many add-ons and accessories coming. If anybody out there at Ruger is reading this review please give us a larger capacity magazine if possible. And where are the replacement magazines all my local dealers say they are not available at this time, two is never enough.

Sure everything is fun until somebody gets their face eaten!

I’m sure when the police officer from South Beach Florida pulled up to a call with two naked men at the side of the road he was not looking forward to a zombie attack. Let’s give the officer some credit for his calm cool demeanor for the initial single round put in the attacker’s chest. But like all zombies they’re often hard to put down. Six shots were needed for this walking corpse. This particular zombie was fueled by a new street drug called bath salts. Often said to induce a hot sensation in people who take the drug, they then strip off their clothing and go on a violence fueled rampage.

This particular gore fest had face eating on the menu. That’s right the victim had the skin chewed off his skull. Striped clean down to his beard, one witness claims. So remember people who do conceal and carry. When your attacker is snarling and chewing on an earlier victim double tap for your safety and mine.

Magpul costs me money

20120520-213315.jpg

Magpul the company is a terrorist to my wallet. They just keep coming out with more and more gear that I must add to my ARs. Not only are there products extremely well-made and ergonomically efficient, they are arguably some of the best buys for AR accessories on the market. I have been known to drop more than a few dollars on replacement accessories in various colors. But this company must be stopped. For you consideration I place before you The Magpul UBR collapsable rifle stock. Often called by Magpul fanboys as the CTR’s cooler asshole big brother. Sure it’s sturdy, looks like something out of Stormship Troopers, and costs more than I make in a day even with overtime. Only Magpul could make other items in their own product line look like crap in comparison. At over $260 I was going to say it was the most expensive add on I have purchased for my gun collection, but I would be wrong. The Stag Arms piston kit beat it. But if you factor in all the other Magpul FDE I bought to match I’m grateful for my understanding spouse. Just remember guys just keep telling yourself, it’s an investment and when you sell all your guns you can retire in luxury

Fortuitous Timing or in Cahoots

Let us be grateful for the Washington Post. With one simple story they have proved that they are in the bag for Obama. The week after the president announces to the world his evolving opinion on gay marriage. The Post runs a story about how Mitt Romney bullied and shaved the head of a “reportedly” gay man forty years ago. Not only has the individual not been able to tell his story, because he is dead. His family has come out saying that the story didn’t happen that way.

Are we to believe that the timing of this is all just really fortuitous for the White House. The Washington post has joined MSNBC as being Obama’s butt boys. This is obviously a coordinated effort between the two. The main steam press just jumped in and ran with the story. Simple stories are best for propaganda.

Now the press can continue about talking about anything else but the economy, or jobs, Iran, the collapsing European economy, or how they are cooking the numbers of unemployment and inflation. There hasn’t been this much shit shoveled science the fall of the Soviet Union.

Wake up sheeple.

This Cult of Personality must stop

This enclose flag has been showing up in the news lately. After it was run up the flag pole as it were, at a local DNC headquarters. I thought to myself, just an enthusiastic hack an the DNC. They sheepishly took it down and pretended it didn’t exist. Then the same flag showed up in New Jersey and I started looking around. Sure enough somebody has thought it would be a good idea the place our fearless leaders face in place of the stars on old glory.

The strangest thing is that the people who place them up are surprised some people are incensed. Deface our flag with some comical stalinistic third world dictator representation, and expect us to smile about it. We are a nation of laws. I will not stand by and let our country become Venezuela. What kind of ego driven narcissus would let that image be used in such a way?

People come up with stupid ideas all the time. Somebody, somewhere must have said at sometime, this is not a good idea. Who green lighted this flag and who should have stopped him. This cult of personality, flies in the face of our republic.

Gun Show Score

Everyone that goes to gun shows is looking to score. Mostly we are surrounded by dealers looking to make their money back as soon as possible. Which, I understand and can even take their side. Most of the people who are selling are looking to get retail prices for used guns that often are missing accessories. SKS’s are often entry level guns that are traded in when the owner is looking to take the next jump up the price ladder to ARs or AKs.  I enjoy the SKS rifle for what it is.  Simple, rugged and reliable are hallmarks of this rifle.  The above rifle was purchased in a face to face transfer $280.  It’s a Norinco SKS with no import company stamped on it.  It had no magazine when I bought it.  It was very dirty and was missing the cleaning kit and cleaning rod.  The potential was still there.  Barrel was dirty but the rifling was still strong.  After a quick range trip to check for function I can add it to my shooting collection.  I’m probably going to add a replacement ten round magazine, but I’m tempted to go Bubba on it.  What ya think?
